Abstract:

Comcast’s X1 Voice Remote is in millions of homes, and the feedback has been overwhelmingly positive. Users appreciate the high utility and accuracy of the voice remote. As a product manager, it is Jeanine’s responsibility to understand customers’ needs, position the product against competitors, and ensure aligns with the company’s goals. She will give insight into all of these areas, with an extra emphasis on the understanding customers’ needs and how that shapes the product roadmap.

About Jeanine:

Jeanine Gubler Heck serves as Executive Director in the Technology and Product organization of Comcast Cable. In this role, Jeanine is the product manager for voice recognition engine behind the X1 voice remote, which launched to customers in May 2015. The voice remote allows customers to easily discover content on X1 through intuitive voice commands.

Since joining Comcast in 2007, in addition to managing the creation of the voice recognition capability, Jeanine has worked with a talented team of engineers to launch a cloud-enabled TV search engine, and managed the company’s first TV recommendations engine.

Prior to joining Comcast, Jeanine worked for Gemini Systems in New York City, an IT consulting company that developed software for financial services companies including the New York Stock Exchange, Jeanine’s primary client. While at Gemini Systems, Jeanine held various roles, including programming, business analysis, and product management.

Jeanine received her bachelor’s degree in Computer Science & Engineering from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from Columbia University. She lives in the Philadelphia area with her husband and 3 children.
