Tracey’s Session: How Smarter Cities Can Lead to Smarter Public Safety
In order for IoT and Smart Cities to support public safety, our first responders need fast access to critical data during emergencies. Former Baltimore Fire Chief Ray Lehr will discuss this challenge, share an overview of FirstNet, and spotlight recent cutting-edge projects that are currently leveraging this technology.
About Tracey
Tracey is a sought after expert, advisor and advocate for women in technology. She is co-founder and CMO of Philadelphia-based open source software firm Chariot Solutions and founder of TechGirlz, a non-profit organization dedicated to inspiring teenage girls to consider careers in technology. Tracey is a frequent commenter on women in technology-related careers and advises a number of leading companies on their STEM programs. She has shared insights and solutions from the stage at SXSW and the Philadelphia Women’s March and serves as a skilled moderator that is always a champion for the audience. She has been a regular contributor to both Huffington Post and Forbes.
Tracey began her career in retail management and advertising sales, before acquiring child transportation company KangaKab and expanding it to Pennsylvania. As CMO at Chariot Solutions, Tracey is responsible for all of the company’s branding, marketing and sales strategies. Twice recognized as a top place to work in Philadelphia, Tracey has helped grow the company 5x since its launch. Seeing a dearth of women in technology led Tracey to build TechGirlz. The non-profit inspires, teaches, nurtures, and networks girls and women at every stage of their lives to ensure they remain passionate, skilled and supported technologists. To date, the program has reached more than 10,000 girls and has plans to reach 20,000 more by 2020. Its success has challenged leaders of industry to consider how workforce diversity is better for their bottom line and how investing in girls is an investment in their future.
In addition to her work at Chariot Solutions and TechGirlz, Tracey is a founder and current chair of the annual Emerging Technologies for the Enterprise Conference (ETE), which attracts world-renowned thought leaders in cutting-edge technologies and serves as a community forum for regional technology companies. She is also a founding board member of Philadelphia Startup Leaders, board member for the Creating IT Futures and WXPN Radio. She serves on the PA Governors Commission for Women and was honored as one of “40 Women to Watch over 40” worldwide.
