Chariot Solutions consultants designed and developed a streaming video dashboard for one of the largest cable providers in the U.S. The dashboard allows the video business unit to see how their video on demand is performing.
This application gives the business access to the complete sales data for all on demand titles, what folders they’re being sold from, how titles and folders are performing in relation to each other and trending over time – all in a relatively simple web application. The video business unit is using the dashboard to make decisions about what folders and titles to promote, how long to promote them, and how best to organize the on demand offerings.
The client had access to some of this information before, but it was either available too late or incomplete (they knew what sold but not from what folders).
Most significantly, the streaming video dashboard has opened the door to using data to optimize and eventually automate business decisions.
