FuseSource Brings Together Industry Pioneers and Professionals for the First Event Created Specifically for Enterprise Users of Open Source Integration and Messaging Solutions

BEDFORD, Mass. – May xx, 2011 – FuseSource Corp., the experts in open source integration and messaging, today announced that marquee enterprises and open source experts will present at CamelOne, the first event created for enterprise users of open source integration and messaging solutions. IT professionals interested in learning more about how open source integration and messaging can benefit their organization should plan to attend the event, which features an expert-packed conference on May 24, 2011 in Arlington, Va. followed by two days of training on key integration and messaging projects from the Apache Software Foundation.

“The incredible response to CamelOne to date reflects what IT professionals at many of the world’s largest organizations already know: open source integration and messaging enables developers to work faster and frees enterprises from the proprietary software fees and practices that all too often put a stranglehold on IT dollars and growth,” said Larry Alston, president of FuseSource. “The reaction to this event is yet another indicator that the movement to lower the cost of IT and speed the development process in business and government is gaining momentum.”

In addition to founding sponsor FuseSource, leading open source companies including Red Hat, Savoir Technologies, Carahsoft and Chariot Solutions, have lent their sponsorship support to the event, which is designed to provide attendees with a unique opportunity to share ideas with some of the world’s leading open source integration and messaging experts. Media sponsors of CamelOne include DZone, Integration Developer News, Software Development Times (SD Times), and Virtual Star Media.

Some of the many notable highlights of CamelOne for attendees include:

• Keynote sessions featuring Insights from the Pioneers of Integration and Messaging: Gregor Hohpe, staff software engineer at Google and author of Enterprise Integration Patterns, will provide attendees with an inside view of the past, present and future of the discipline. David S. Linthicum, CTO and founder of Blue Mountain Labs and author of Enterprise Application Integration, will discuss new integration approaches in cloud computing environments. And James Stratchan, software fellow at FuseSource and a co-founder of Apache projects ActiveMQ, Camel and ServiceMix, will provide attendees with a snapshot of the future of Apache Camel and demonstrate new graphical tooling.

• Lessons from Enterprise Users of Open Source Integration and Messaging Solutions: Numerous sessions at CamelOne will provide attendees with opportunities to learn how enterprises use FuseSource solutions to increase the effectiveness of their IT operations and lower costs. Technology leaders presenting sessions include Linda Chen of the Federal Aviation Administration; Matt Hiett, program director, enterprise architecture in the CTO Group at Sabre Holdings; Mike Laney, senior enterprise architect in the CTO Group at Sabre Holdings; and Pratic Patel, lead technical architect at AT&T.

• Interactive Sessions from Developers and Project Founders and Committers: Development experts will present interactive sessions that provide insights into new techniques, best practices and technologies. Presenters include Keith Babo, core developer at JBoss; Aaron Mulder, committer to Apache Camel and CTO at Chariot Solutions, and others.

• Training from the Experts who Wrote the Code: Interactive sessions from FuseSource’s engineers at the CamelOne Conference will be followed by two days of training in which participants will gain direct access to many project founders and committers, including Jon Anstey, principal software engineer at FuseSource; Rob Davies, CTO at FuseSource and co-founder of Apache Camel, Apache ServiceMix and ApacheMQ; and Claus Ibsen, principal software engineer at FuseSource and project lead for Apache Camel and co-author of Camel in Action; and Adrian Trenaman, principal consultant at FuseSource.

CamelOne will be held at the Westin Arlington Gateway in Arlington, Va. For more information or to register, visit http://camelone.eventbrite.com/

“The insights gained at this first gathering of the open source integration and messaging community will undoubtedly benefit all involved,” said Davies. “CamelOne promises not only to provide attendees with insights they can use to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of their IT operations and infrastructure, but also the chance to foster a long-term dialogue and friendship with peers and colleagues who understand the issues, challenges and opportunities involved.”
