Chariot Solutions develops iPhone App to monitor TC Server performance
Real-time performance insight of the app will be on display during SpringOne 2GX
Chariot Solutions, a leading Java and open source development and consulting firm, announced that it will be showcasing its latest development – an iPhone app
to monitor application server performance – at SpringOne. SpringOne will be held October 19 – 22, 2009 at the Roosevelt Hotel in New Orleans. Attendees will be
able to visit the Chariot booth to view a live demonstration of an application server being monitored in real time.
Chariot has developed the iPhone app to allow IT executives and system administrators to remotely monitor their application servers. With Chariot’s new app,
mobile performance monitoring is now possible for TC Server. With at-your-fingertips access to system status, ‘out of the office’ will no longer mean out of touch
with meaningful performance data of critical applications.
Recognizing the emergence of mobile development for business, Chariot sought to leverage its expertise in the open source space to deliver an application with
clear value to its clients and the IT industry. Chariot’s iPhone app will allow enterprises using TC Server to directly communicate with their application server
(or multiple servers) on-demand. IT directors will be able to remotely verify the operational status of their servers and view current loads. Should an issue arise,
management will have instant access to system analytics to interpret and react.
The server oversight app will enable real time visibility on system availability and current load. After download, users will be able to select the servers to
monitor and set alert thresholds for their specific performance requirements. The insight provides an assessment tool for IT directors and system administrators
to direct troubleshooting and performance tuning efforts while in the field.
Expanding the shared knowledge base and skill set in anticipation of future business challenges is a priority for Chariot. A team of Chariot developers is
involved in the development and testing of the iPhone app to ensure the successful fulfillment of the vision for the app. The new expertise gained by the development
team will be disseminated throughout the Chariot staff via internal training sessions.
“Chariot has always been committed to leveraging the benefits of emerging technologies for the benefit of our clients,” said Aaron Mulder, Chief Technology Officer
of Chariot Solutions. “We view mobile development as a natural extension of our capabilities into an area with significant advantages for our client.”
Chariot has been involved with the Spring framework from almost the beginning. They were one of the first North American partners of Springsource and are currently
a certified training center.

In addition to demonstrating the updated release of the product at SpringOne 2GX, Chariot will also be recruiting a select group of IT executives and systems
administrators to participate in a beta test of the iPhone app. Testers will be able to contribute feedback to help deliver a feature set for the app that is
most beneficial to individuals in a system administration role.
