Free Jenkins User Conference (JUC) Brings Experts and Enthusiasts Together for an Invaluable Day of Learning and Networking
SAN FRANCISCO, CA–(Marketwire – Sep 21, 2011) – Jenkins Community, the community of developers using the Jenkins CI open-source continuous integration (CI) server, today announced its inaugural Jenkins User Conference (JUC). The conference will be held on Sunday, October 2, 2011, at Marines’ Memorial Club & Hotel in San Francisco, just prior to the start of JavaOne 2011. Come join the growing Jenkins community to share experiences and discuss best practices for building on-premise or cloud applications, plug-ins and much more.
Jenkins CI (formerly Hudson) is the leading open source CI server. Jenkins CI provides more than 400 plug-in modules to support building and testing virtually any Java-based project. The Jenkins User Conference is dedicated to expanding the skill sets of Jenkins developers to support the ongoing explosive growth of the Jenkins platform. With sponsorship from solution providers such as CloudBees, Liferay, Red Hat, New Relic, Sauce Labs, Chariot Solutions, and eXo, the conference is free to all. “I’ve enjoyed witnessing the global growth and increasing vibrancy of the Jenkins community,” said Andrew Bayer, member of the Jenkins Governing Board. “The decision by the Governing Board to introduce a Jenkins user event preceding JavaOne is in response to the growing demand from Java developers looking to increase their expertise and usage of Jenkins as an Agile CI platform. I’m excited that we are at this stage in our growth to gather Jenkins users together from all over the globe.”
Kohsuke Kawaguchi, Jenkins creator, and elite developer and architect at CloudBees, will deliver the JUC keynote address. In addition to CloudBees, the organizing sponsor of the event, companies presenting at JUC include: CoR-Lab, Liferay, Lookout, Inc., Michael Hüttermann Consulting, Red Hat, Sauce Labs, Tasktop, The Frontside, Yahoo! and Zero Tunraround.
“This is a great opportunity to interact with the Jenkins community and exchange best practices and ideas with other Jenkins users,” said Kawaguchi. “I’m looking forward to the community sharing their experiences. We can all also learn new techniques from the impressive list of conference presenters, many of whom will provide real-world examples of how they are successfully using Jenkins as their Agile CI platform.”
