Director of Consulting Don Coleman to Speak at Maker Faire

Presentations planned on PhoneGap and Near Field Communication Technology

May 15, 2013 (Philadelphia) – Chariot Solutions, a leading enterprise application and mobile development consulting firm, announced today that Director of Consulting Don Coleman will speak at the 2013 Maker Faire in the San Francisco Bay Area on Saturday May 18 and Sunday May 19.

Coleman will present on “PhoneGap for Marketers” and “Arduino Near Field Communication (NFC) Shield.”

“Don’s participation in Maker Faire speaks to the depth of knowledge and innovation that we have at Chariot,” said Mike Rappaport, CEO and founder of Chariot Solutions. “We are always honored to have our team showcased on a stage like this.”

Coleman’s first presentation, “PhoneGap for Marketers,” will focus on the use of PhoneGap to write apps for phones using HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It will show how to get started with PhoneGap and demonstrate Android applications interacting with Arduino hardware.

In the second presentation, “Arduino NFC Shield,” Coleman will talk about NFC and using the Adrafruit NFC on an Arduino.

Maker Faire is primarily designed to be forward-looking, showcasing makers who are exploring new forms and technologies. But it’s not just for the novel in technical fields; Maker Faire features innovation and experimentation across the spectrum of science, engineering, art, performance and craft.

Maker Faire is a venue for makers to show examples of their work and interact with others about it. Many makers say they have no other place to share what they do. Maker Faire makes visible these projects and ideas that we don’t encounter every day.
