Project of The Year Award Winners Announced at Emerging Technologies for the Enterprise Conference in Philadelphia

Ajungod Holdings, LLC, WizHive, and Pierce College Honored

April 11, 2012 (Philadelphia, PA) – Chariot Solutions, host of the annual Emerging Technologies for the Enterprise Conference (ETE) , announced today that Ajungo.com by Ajungo Holdings, LLC, has been selected as the winner of the ETE Conference’s inaugural Project of the Year Award. The website helps users explore the world through the social connections they’ve built online through social media. In doing so, the company aims to provide travelers with a more immersive, social and entertaining trip-planning experience. Honorable Mentions went to WizeHive for its self-service contest builder and Pierce College for its Apple and Android mobile application. The Project of the Year award puts a spotlight on innovative software produced in the Philadelphia region during 2011, and recognizes how that software contributed to an organization’s competitive advantage and creative efficiencies.

The winner was announced at the 7th Annual ETE Conference in Philadelphia, which has become the Mid-Atlantic’s go to conference for developers, architects, and IT executives. Over 500 technology leaders were in attendance, discussing the principles, practices, and products that are transforming IT’s ability to drive the success of the enterprise. In practical application, the speakers and panelists at the conference represent the companies that are developing technologies that make enterprises like Amazon, Google, Apple, and Comcast run.

“Chariot is proud to host the Philly ETE and sees the Project of the Year as an extension of our mission at ETE – to celebrate the software development community in Philadelphia,” said Mike Rappaport, CEO of Chariot Solutions. “Chariot knows how important team work and innovation are in the development process. We applaud the inaugural winners.”

The winners were selected by a panel of local technology leaders from various backgrounds including, Joe Rafter VP of Strategic Global Transformation, The Yell Group; Mike Krupit, General Manager, Novotorium; Angelo Valletta, SVP, CIO, Head of Bank Operations, Sun National Bank, and Gerry Halmagyi, Senior Information Systems Executive formerly with ConocoPhillips. TechnicallyPhilly sponsored the award.

Throughout the selection process, the projects were judged by how the project transformed company cost savings, business efficiencies, new product launch, or by creating a competitive advantage. At least 60 percent of the team members must work or be based within 50 miles of Philadelphia, and the project must represent effective use of the software development budget to produce results for the business, stakeholders and employees involved in the project.

“The Philly ETE Conference has been the shining start for technologists in the Mid-Atlantic area since 2007, but 2012 introduces the dawn of a new era with the Project of the year Award,” said Mr. Rafter. “As ETE grows in popularity each year and as Philadelphia gains more recognition as a tech-savvy city, it’s fitting to pay special recognition to new business and technology solutions, born in the Mid Atlantic.”
