Nourished: New Technology Connects Restaurants with Healthcare Workers
In today’s episode of 15 Minutes With, Chariot Solutions’ CMO, Tracey Welson-Rossman, talks with Ryan Schumacher from the Penn Medicine’s Center for Health Care Innovation, and Drew DeCarme, engineer and consultant at Chariot Solutions.
Drew DeCarme was part of the pro bono effort by Chariot to lead the effort to develop Nourished, an app that allows hospital staff to easily order meals from a curated list of local restaurants via web app. In this video, they cover the ‘how’ of launching an MVP under aggressive timeframes: from ideation and initial testing, to implementing a thoughtfully chosen tech stack, all the way to launch – in only a couple of weeks.
About Nourished
Nourished is a new contactless meal delivery platform created by Penn Medicine. Chariot Solutions provided pro bono software development as part of the volunteer effort to connect local Philadelphia restaurants with Penn Medicine staff. Launched in April, Penn’s healthcare workers get safe and convenient access to affordable takeout meals through Nourished. All orders are subsidized by Fuel the Fight and Frontline Foods to ensure affordable meals for staff.
Chariot donated its services out of love for a community that is so challenged by the COVID-19 pandemic. “As a local technology company, we can give back to Philadelphia restaurants and healthcare,” said Michael Rappaport, CEO of Chariot Solutions. “Nourished is built for sustainability. The process ensures safe food handling practices, and we have been able to help quickly expand capacity from 90 orders to 200 orders per day.”
