Chief Marketing Officer Tracey Welson-Rossman Named to Forty Women to Watch Over 40 2013 List
Welson-Rossman an active member of the region’s IT community
June 25, 2013 (Philadelphia) – Chariot Solutions, a leading enterprise application and mobile development consulting firm, announced today that Chief Marketing Officer Tracey Welson-Rossman was named to the Forty Women to Watch Over 40 2013 List. Welson-Rossman was the only women selected from the greater Philadelphia region.
The winners, selected from over 1,000 nominees around the world, span a variety of industries from arts and sciences to politics and entertainment and include social entrepreneurs and corporate change-makers.
Christina Vuleta, founder of 40:20 Vision, and Whitney Johnson, Author of “Dare Dream Do,” created Forty Women to Watch Over 40 to raise awareness around the women who are paving new pathways to success. It boasts forty game- changing women who are integrating personal value while also creating value for the economy.
“I believe it is critically important to give younger women new role models,” Vuleta said. “Research shows that women today don’t look ahead to older women for inspiration. But I see from my work that it is more a lack of visibility. Older women are out there quietly changing the world, but they are not the usual suspects for media selection and corporations do too little to celebrate them.”
Welson-Rossman is an active member in the local IT community. She is the founder and a trustee for TechGirlz, a Philadelphia-based nonprofit that helps to bridge the gender gap in STEM fields, a founding board member of Philly Startup Leaders, the largest and most active community of startup entrepreneurs in the Philadelphia region and the co-founder of the Philly Women in Tech Summit, an annual event for women in technology in the Philadelphia region. She also is the founder and chair of the Emerging Technologies for the Enterprise Conference, which is held in Philadelphia each year. ETE attracts world-renowned thought leaders in cutting-edge technologies and serves as a community forum for regional technology companies.
“It’s important for our generation of women to empower the next generation,” Welson-Rossman said. “We need to mentor young women and pave the way for future leaders across all industries.”
Among her accomplishments at Chariot Solutions is the creation of a partner channel consisting of software vendors and consulting firms that complement Chariot’s service offerings. In addition, she is responsible for a successful branding campaign, which established Chariot Solutions as the premier Java, open source and mobile development resource in the region.
Welson-Rossman’s primary responsibilities include business development, lead generation and channel management. She is responsible for defining and maintaining Chariot’s marketing plan and for executing a wide array of marketing and promotional activities. She also leads the firm’s sales efforts.
Welson-Rossman is a well-rounded entrepreneur who has excelled in a variety of positions since 1985. Prior to joining Chariot Solutions, she spent three years as the director of marketing at Skylight Systems, an accounting software company that specializes in solutions for mid-size and large wholesale distributors. While at Skylight, Welson-Rossman bought KangaKab, a child transportation service company, where she developed her passion for startup companies.
She graduated from Drexel University with a B.S. degree in business administration, with retail management and marketing as her field of concentration. Welson-Rossman resides outside of Philadelphia with her husband and two sons.
