March 16, 2021 from 9:30 – 11:30 AM
The pandemic has exacerbated long-standing workforce challenges for parents, especially women. Hundreds of thousands of women have lost their jobs. Black and Latino women are experiencing a historically high unemployment rate, well above 8%. And, 1 in 4 women are considering leaving careers, according to a recent McKinsey-Lean In report, a likely result of the pandemic thrusting families into an untenable and unsustainable position.
For decades, policymakers have struggled to adequately support working families. Right now, whole industries are suffering while just a few corporations take independent action. How we respond now will have major implications for work in the future and gender equity. Join The Future Works Alliance PHL, the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia, and Chariot Solutions to understand the challenge and explore solutions interactively. Through collaboration, we can support women and our economy can thrive in the future of work.
