In this episode, our host Keith Gregory talks to Drew Rogers, a consultant here at Chariot. Drew specializes in DevOps, and recently worked with a client that needed to be untethered from any particular cloud platform — like AWS, or Google. So he implemented a solution that involved a Kubernetes cluster running on Azure.
In this chat, Drew and Keith break down this configuration: the considerations behind choosing Kubernetes, and leveraging Azure features such as secrets management and database servers. They also talk about Terraform, an infrastructure tool that Drew chose, and CircleCI, a continuous integration solution that Drew didn’t choose himself, but ended up enjoying. What are the benefits to each? Drawbacks? And how did these choices increase transparency for the developers on the project?
Drew and Keith discuss.
