Tracey-Welson Rossman and Don Coleman join programming
at Amplify’s inaugural “House”
March 05, 2018 (Philadelphia) – Chariot Solutions, a leading enterprise application and mobile development consulting firm, has announced it will send two members of its leadership team to represent Philadelphia at SXSW in Austin. During the conference (March 9-18, 2018) Chariot will speak on panels hosted by the Amplify Philly delegation, of which it has been a member and sponsor for three years.
For the first time, Philadelphia’s coordinated presence at SXSW will include an Amplify Philly House (401 E. 6th Street) to promote the city as a hub for innovation across multiple industries. On March 11 and 12, the group will host a “Conversations” series of panels at the House.
On March 11, Chief Innovation Officer Don Coleman will join the “Developers: Lifeline of Your Startup Community” panel from 11:30am to 12:30pm. This session will bring together top developers in Philadelphia to share their ideas for creating the right conditions for developers and tech talent to thrive. From 1:30 to 2:30pm, CMO Tracey Welson-Rossman will speak on “The NorthStar Connection: How Philadelphia is Supercharging Inclusivity and Becoming A Tech Diversity Hub”. This panel will explore what Philadelphia is doing to become a top tech diversity hub and a beacon for those who are underrepresented to find support, partnership and a springboard for advancement.
Simultaneously, Welson-Rossman will serve as a mentor at The BE Conference. Held on March 11 and 12 during SXSW, the conference is a premier event for women in media, entertainment, entrepreneurship and technology, connecting emerging professionals with corporate leaders and young influencers.
In 2017, Chariot was one of approximately 20 Philadelphia companies to demo on SXSW’s official Interactive trade show floor. In 2018, many of Amplify’s members will instead showcase their work at the House.
“Last year, after seeing the activation spaces by other cities, the Amplify Philly team wanted to see if we could have a bigger impact on the message of Philly as a tech innovation hub by having our own ‘house,’” Welson-Rossman told Philadelphia Magazine. “The trade show was great but not as conducive for allowing us to have our own programming and to really highlight Philly.”
She added, “the activation space is going to be the next progression of Philly’s presence at one of the largest tech conferences in the country.”
